Congratulations to Wharton’s 2010 EMBA Graduates!

May 20, 2010

Graduation time has arrived and we congratulate our newest Wharton MBA alumni!

Second-year students in Wharton’s West Coast executive MBA program graduated on May 2nd in a ceremony held at Herbst Memorial Theatre in San Francisco.  The featured commencement speaker for the ceremony was Paul Otellini, President and Chief Executive Officer of Intel Corporation. The ceremony was followed by a dinner reception at San Francisco’s City Hall.

The 87 graduating students at Wharton | San Francisco are a diverse group, working in industries ranging from software development and healthcare to retail and financial services, with many successful entrepreneurs among them.  Geographically speaking, most graduates reside in California, including San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Los Angeles and Orange County.  In addition, many commuted from out-of-state - Washington, Colorado, Texas, and Idaho. The graduates represent 15 home countries, including Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, India, Ireland, Pakistan, the U.K. and China.

On the East Coast, 113 students in the Wharton MBA Program for Executives, joined by 25 West Coast students, graduated on May 16th at a ceremony featuring speaker Robert S. Kapito, a Wharton undergraduate alumnus and cofounder, president, and director of asset management firm BlackRock.  This ceremony was held at historic Franklin Field for all 1,000 Wharton graduate students.

This Philadelphia class also represents a variety of industries such as healthcare, insurance, real estate, energy, and finance. While the majority of students are from the East Coast – stretching from Boston to Richmond - some come from other states such as North Carolina, Texas, Michigan, and even other countries like Bermuda and Canada.  One student commuted from Moscow five of the six semesters!  The class also represents many countries including Australia, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Colombia, the Czech Republic, India, China, Tunisia, and Zimbabwe.

We wish all of our graduates the best of luck and look forward to hearing about their continued career achievements!
