Growing and Enhancing a Diverse Community: Alumna Mori Taheripour Talks about the Importance of Diversity

For Wharton West alumna Mori Taheripour, who graduated from Wharton’s West Coast EMBA program in 2003, business school was about more than just the academic experience. It also was about what her fellow students brought to the table. “The more diverse the program, the more you get out of it,” she says.  “Without having people from different cultures, backgrounds and professions, the richness of the experience would not have been there,” says Taheripour. “In the EMBA format, the conversations in the classroom are as important as what you are taught. It’s all about the people.

Getting Down to Business: Prospective Students Gather at Wharton San Francisco Admissions Reception
October 7, 2008

Nearly 80 prospective students from companies like Google, Cisco, Oracle, Gap, Merrill Lynch, and Johnson & Johnson attended a recent admissions reception at Wharton's San Francisco campus to learn more about the Wharton MBA for Executives. While the group enjoyed networking over drinks and appetizers, they quickly got down to business asking questions about the admissions process, program dates, and GMAT scores.

Wharton EMBA Program Confirms Diversity and Charlotte Receptions
October 11, 2007

The executive MBA program's fall 2007 information reception schedule includes a new destination - Charlotte, NC. The Executive MBA admissions team feels that Charlotte has become such an important U.S. financial center and that North Carolina as a whole has such a strong scientific and entrepreneurial community, the market for potential students is very strong. Wharton EMBA alumni who live in the area will be attending the event to share their experiences and explain why making the commute to Philadelphia to complete their MBA while progressing in their jobs is a worthwhile pursuit.

Online Chat for Women
January 12, 2007

On Tuesday, January 16, 8-9:30pm EST, the Wharton EMBA program will host a chat for women who are considering b-school. This event will feature Management Prof. Monica McGrath, along with alumnae and students from Wharton's MBA Program for Executives in both San Francisco and Philadelphia.

Great Turnout at EMBA Receptions
October 16, 2006

We continue to experience record turnouts at the EMBA receptions.   The largest crowd yet filled the Jon M. Huntsman Hall Colloquim on Penn's campus in Philly on Wednesday, October 11, 2006.  And the September receptions in Los Angeles and New York also broke attendance records.
