Bring it On! Wharton EMBA Classes to Compete in Philadelphia Marathon

The battle has begun! It started when the second-year Women’s Group in Wharton’s Executive MBA Program decided to participate in the upcoming Philadelphia Marathon, but now it has turned into a full-fledged competition between the EMBA classes over who can raise the most money and run/walk the most miles.

Intense Residential Program Fosters Deep Bonds Among Wharton EMBA Students
July 1, 2008

It’s been about a month so far, and the new Wharton EMBA students in Philadelphia and at Wharton West in San Francisco are settling in nicely to their new environments. Philadelphia students are residing every other weekend in the Steinberg Conference Center where they eat in the executive dining room, meet with their teams in group study rooms, and take advantage of in-house fitness facilities. Wharton West students are staying at a top-brand nearby hotel during their program weekends, and they eat all their meals together in Wharton's executive dining room.

Prof. Friedman’s Popular “Total Leadership” Course Featured in The New York Times
June 10, 2008

In case you didn’t catch The New York Times May 29th article on Professor Stewart Friedman, here’s the first sentence:  “Students talk about Stewart D. Friedman, a management professor at the Wharton School, with a mixture of earnest admiration, gratitude and rock star adoration.” Wow! That’s a great description of Prof. Friedman, who frequently teaches the “Total Leadership” elective class to EMBA students on the east and west coasts. The article goes on to highlight the popularity of his class, noting that many students later credit him with changing their lives.

Wharton 2007 EMBA International Seminars
November 28, 2007

Wharton Executive MBA second year students from both the East and West programs have returned from their International Seminar trips.  In September the Philadelphia class visited Shanghai while the San Francisco class went to Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires.  The international seminar marks the culmination of a semester-long examination into how business firms develop and implement strategy in a competitive global context.
